Applying Floor Epoxy

I'm remodeling the restrooms at work. I pulled the old 12" tile out of the mens room and plan on putting Epoxy back down. The tile in the
ladies restroom looks very good but just old and still stuck to the concrete underneath very well. My question is can I put epoxy right over
the old tile?

You could. But I would not reccomend it. If the old tile were fail it would mess up your floor.

If tile was stuck. I always use a propane weed burner torch to heat it (it does not take much) to release the glue. Then use a scrapper to remove the tile.

You should at least remove the commode so you can coat under it to make the floor even. Just need a new wax ring to put it back.

Just remember to use anti static. I worked in a plant where they did not. If you did not grab the urinal first you were in for a surprise.

No, you can't put epoxy over a tile floor. At first it would seem to work but within a year would start pealing off. Even where you remove the old tile if it was vinyl tile you would have to do an overkill removing the old tile adhesive for the epoxy adhere.

I'd forget the epoxy and cover the floor with a good LVP (luxury vinyl plank). It is waterproof and tough, and easy to put down.
