Snap On specialty socket

This was in a bow that I acquired at a local auction. I do not know what it may be used for, and was hoping those knowledgeable forum members would know what it is used for.

We use sockets similar to that on clamps on aircraft in the service,if I remember right they were hose type clamps that had a external flat or wing nut style on them.I still have one in my tool box from working on civilian aircraft.
 
Back when I was involved in building hog confinement buildings, we used a similar socket to screw in 100's of eye bolts.
