Memory Foam mattress pad

Memory foam mattresses are hot , so hot that I can't sleep on them . The pads are probably the same , this might suit you , then again it might not , best to be aware of it .

Ours was always too hot. We got a pad that I think had some sort of gel in it to dissipate the heat but I couldn't tell any difference. I went into the other room.

Pads are a waste of money, IMO. Ours was removed within 3 days of use. I think its still up in the attic or somewhere. We got talked into a Sleep Number, most wasted money. We know have a Tempurpedic CLoud Breeze. Not hot at all, and whilei ts a little softer than I would like, it supports fine.

We had a couple. I think the first was 4" and the second was 6". I dind't find them any hotter than any other mattress myself. I believe ours came from Walmart. Our kids are still using them. We ended up getting a new bed after 30 some years last year. The mattress is fine, but the adjustable base makes ALL the difference in the world!!!!

I have had a Tempurpedic for 18 years. Lay down - go to sleep. Try to read - go to sleep. No box spring, just a platform with higher edges that match the height when sitting on the edge. Would not trade it for anything else. Jim

We had gotten a memory foam mattress topper. Was so hot that even the wife didn't like it, and she's a self-proclaimed Freeze Baby.

My wife, against my better judgement, bought a 3 or 4 inch foam pad from WalMart. I'm prone to back problems so I like a firm mattress. I have also heard that the foam ones are hot so expected that to be a problem.

Much to my surprise, I like it! Conforms to my shape and is actually more comfortable and not noticeably warmer.

Chapped my butt to have to tell SWMBO she was right..."8^)

JC Penny, 2.5", $250, been 8 years sitting on top of a $350 mattress. You don't need to spend thousands on a mattress if you have the pad.....but you do need the pad. I had back problems since an injury when a teen and this sucker solves that problem. Get up in the morning feeling great.

Seems I only told half the story. The bed we had put the topper on was comfortable, and not very old. However, the frame that came with it had a non-adjustable center support that did not go all the way to the floor. When we'd get into bed, we'd roll to the middle.

Ended up putting some 3/4" CDX between mattress and box spring. The difference was literally night and day -- sleep all night, awake all day! Couldn't believe the difference a little bit of plywood could make.

Once plywood was there, had a problem with mattress "walking"; working its way to one side of the bed and overhanging the bed. That was fixed by using non-adhesive shelf liner - that 'gripping' stuff. I had a large piece that was originally meant for use on workbenches. Worked beautifully!
