Best to go to a welding gas supplier such as Airgas (in WV). You can buy or lease larger tanks.

I have a few 20 Cu Ft tanks (around $100) for my soldering set up. I have to take them in and trade for a full tank or have mine filled..

If you checked into it. The MAPP gas sold in hardware stores only runs about 50 degrees hotter than propane. By having your tank and getting them filled you can get MAP-Pro gas which burns quite a bit hotter.

The last 14 oz. tank I bought at Lowe's says Mapp/Pro. Then I noticed that all the gas sold at Lowe's and Home Depot is Mapp/Pro, as is the gas sold just about
everywhere. I did a bit of Google and found that MAPP was a patented product and the only company making it decided to discontinue it in 2008. So basically
everything is now Mapp/Pro. I also read quite a few threads where folks who used both said that the old Mapp gas burned hotter than the current Mapp/Pro.

SVcummins; I notice that by weight there's almost exactly ten times as much propane as oxygen per bottle---14.1 oz. propane vs. 1.4 oz. oxygen. Maybe that's why gas supply places such as welding shops sell oxygen by the cubic foot (or liter), not by the pound.

I would just buy a 20cf oxygen bottle. Of course I would have acetylene not Map gas. The sets have a 10 cf acetylene. BTW, make sure any high pressure bottle has a DOT number on it. There are some made in China bottles out, that no one will fill.(a single line of numbers is probably no good, three lines should be all right to buy.)

I used to have one of those little portable kits from Victor with the 20CF Oxy and 10CF Acetylene tanks. It worked great but got too expensive because those little tanks don't last very long and they are quite expensive to have refilled. The gas places really burn you on the little tanks (no pun intended). It seemed like every time I needed it the Acetylene tank was empty or near empty. I eventually sold it.

Just some brazing and stuff like that I wish I had Bought the torch without the oxygen bottle now the map gas bottle would last for ever on it but this one the tip is a lot smaller and it concentrates the heat a lot better
