Little Giant Extreme ladder?

Anybody got one? I watched the infomercial, and think it might be useful, especially on the stairs. Kinda wanted to see what other folks experience is before I spend the cash? 8)

There are a lot of "brands" of similar ladders. Check Lowes,
Menards, Home Depot, (even Pamida and Walmart) for similar
ladders, features and pricing. I ended up with a 13 ft. "Keller" from
Menards (on sale and with a rebate). I really like it, it does
everything that I want a ladder to do. I have used it in most of the
ways possible. It is "great" for use on stairs. I have also purchased
a longer (17 ft.) one. They are a very convenient, useful and safe
(as a ladder can be) style of ladder. Any of them are lower cost than
even one trip to the emergency room. Did I mention that "I really
like them".

300 lb. or higher rated ladder, even if you "do not need it". The
higher rating makes the ladder much more rigid and secure.

Wife got tired of draging around my 6' fiberglass, bought a knock-off at Menards. She used it twice, to heavy. I put it in my barn.

I've used it, but not all that much in different configurations. Just basic 6-step or extended. I feel safe (as can be), saves space vs. ext ladders. We've had it 5 yrs or so. I'd buy another.

Have fun....don t. ....

I have one that I bought about six years ago. I like it and use it often. We have a high ceiling in our great room and it's great for painting or changing light bulbs.

I have an original Little Giant ladder that I bought over ten years ago and it's wonderful. I think Wing sales have been hurt by the Chinese knockoffs that are now available in Home Depot and elsewhere, so they came up with the "Xtreme" ladder as an attempt to maintain their absurdly high prices.

I don't see any reason to buy an Xtreme ladder rather than the original Little Giant or one of the knock-offs made by Werner. Personally I refuse to buy any product that uses the word "extreme", and double that for those that insist on spelling it as "xtreme".

I have one, use it often. We just built a new barn, family event, Everyone bad mouthed my Little Giant ladder,,,,, then used it a ton. Yes they are heavy, however most stable ladder I've ever been on, not matter which configuration I use. Very nice if your not on a perfectly level floor, siding a building, building soffits etc etc..

I have seen the copy cats, not sure how they standup. They appear to not be of the same quality.

I bought one of the imitators. It unfolds to about 17". It has been useful, especially on stairs. It is heavy, but that has not been a problem. The only objection I have when using it for long periods of time: the square rungs are very uncomfortable to stand on.

I bought one about 25 years ago. I used to manufacture carwash machinery and almost fell off a rikerty wooden one in a wash. Decided $400 was cheaper than 2 months with a broken leg. I can straddle the top 9' up, solid as a rock.

Somewhere I heard /read that is the number one ladder people get hurt on according to OSHA. So the next question : How much do you weigh?

For the money that Little Giant gets you can do better with a Keller. I have a 22 footer that I bought about 10 years ago and although it's heavy (~40#) it's solid as a rock. As I recall I paid about $175.00 on sale at Menard's.

Other than being heavy the only complaint I have is that you need to be careful when lowering it so you don't pinch loose skin between the sections.

My daughter and I put gutters on her house this summer and there were times that she and I were on both sides of the ladder and it stayed put. It is so stable that I rarely use my step ladder anymore. It does stairs, will compensate for the pitch on the roof, will get you right up close to walls and windows without leaning against anything.

If you are set on Little Giant they are sold at Costco.
