Parts Washer Pump Replacement

I recently had the pump die in my HF wash tank.
Some where I saw where a furnace burner pump and motor were used as a pump.
Has anyone ever used one for a parts washing tank?
I would think the pump outlet woulld be high pressure. Is there a way to "Y" it off and put a valve in place to control the flow?
Any help or info would be welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Hmm... a Y is not a bad idea. Not sure of the thread types though, might be hard to locate fittings to match? Could run a T with a ball valve on one side and the wash hose on the other. Just close off the ball valve to get full flow on the hose side. Could be enough to work with no chance of dead heading the pump. Hate when they splash...

Jeff, I've had an oil burner pump rigged up like that for over 20 years. Have a 1/4" copper line run for discharge. It has a good flow, no splash, really could use more flow. I put the small oil burner filter on it too. Rig it up, and see what you get.

Charlie

Jeff, as per your request...
