Bearing identity?

I am in need of about four flat idler pulleys. They are no longer available and I have searched extensivly! All have bad bearings that are sandwiched between the pulley halves. I removed the rivets and found the ball bearings have no identification numbers.
They are 1.575" OD by .500" thk. and the ID is 3/8" that a 3/8 bolt passes through.
What do you call a bearing like this that doesn't have a precision ID?

Check the bolt mount. Often those are bushings that are pressed into the ID of the bearing. You can remove the bushing and get the true ID measurement and then match a bearing to it.

what are they out of? should be able to take the measurements or old brg.to a brg. house and get them matched up.

I believe TSC carries those standard idler bearings. $7 to $20 or so. Go to their website and do a search on "idler bearing".

Jiles if you have a BDI (bearing distributors inc.) in your area just take the old bearing and they can order a new one for you. Also if you have the dementions you can call and they can order it that way. HTH.

Quite possibly a 6203 bearing with bushing.

6203 bearing size:
ID 17mm = .669291"
OD 40mm = 1.57480"
W 12mm = .472440"

Kinda what I was thinking. A 6203 is available just about anywhere as a generator or alternator front bearing. If the kid behind the counter needs more info, tell him it is for the generator on a '63 Ford F100 with the 223 inline 6.

Give Baum Hydraulics/Baum Iron a call in Omaha.

Likely, they can sell you new idlers or bearings to make your old ones work again.
