TP tools sandblasting cabinets

Been looking at the TP tools website for a sand-blasting cabinet. Specifically the 960-T or 960 Pro blast. Any comments good or bad?

Thought about buying a compressor package but I think I will go locally (cast air co.) for that item. I"m looking at a two stage compressor,7.5 HP 230 volt, single phase, with the mag starter, automatic drain, intercooler, and air intake silencer. Compressor is about 24 CFM at 150 psi, and compressor RPM is 750. It isn"t going to be cheap, but I"d like to get it right the first time. Any thoughts?

i bought the 960t from them, great cabinet, great service. we added the foot pedal, but get the carbide tip kit too. as far as media, get the aluminum oxide, cuts fast lasts a long time. blast at between 60-80 psi. higher pressures just wear out the gun and the media.

I bought the 960t. The foot pedal is a must as is the carbide nozzle. It"s worth every penny I spent on it. Also, get the dust collection system, not the cheaper shop vac type. You"ll be happy.

I have a larger TP cabinet, don't recall the model number. They all have the same foot operated gun and by all means get the vac system with HEPA filter add on. They sell you the DIY kit, its cheaper than the already assembled one and they recommend this. It came with a crushed glass, too much dust, very bad, I quickly removed that and began using 40/60 glass beads. Oxide is quite abrasive and would destroy many things. I've been happy with the glass beads for what I do, cleaning rusty tools and parts, small things. I use a Husky 2 stage 7.5 hp 80 gal compressor with 24 cfm airflow and have a 1/2 hose supplying the foot valve. I find if I blast for too long the compressor runs alot and gets hot, not overheated but I don't like it hot, so I take breaks from it. Haven't done anything large in a while though.

Get the caster kit, great for cleaning up as you can move the unit.

Plan on picking it up at a freight terminal with straps and a trailer if you can, will save you lots of money on home delivery charges.
