Different heating tips?

I bought a rosebud style heating tip today for my Purox torch. However Purox lists two different types of heating tips. The one piece with a swaged end that's wider at the heating end or the rosebud style with a seperate wider head attached. The swaged one has 7 preheat holes around the outside and the wider rosebud style has 8 holes around the outside and another hole in the middle. The guy there said the rosebud style is just a wider heat zone but I'm not sure why there are two different types. They both have the same btu rating. Do any of the welding experts on here know what the differences are and why one would be preferred over the other? I don't think any other makes of torches have the swaged heating tips? Dave

Look under Esab heating tips and you'll see what I mean. They have both styles for acetylene or other fuel gasses. Dave
