Do you remember the Jeepers Creeper?

I need a garage creeper and I'm not very excited about all the new ones I see in the stores. I know they're soft and comfortable but I'd prefer one of the old style--like the varnished, wooden "Jeepers Creeper". It would fit my '59 MF perfectly.

So, I've decided to build one myself based on the old design. I've got a photo of the Jeepers Creeper but don't have the dimensions. Do one of you people have one around they could measure up for me... just the width and length?

This info would be most appreciated.

The Jeepers Creepers are still being made but they are not made of wood anymore.

My dad was a mecanic for the local farmall dealer in the late 40's through the early 60's. I inherited his creeper and I still roll around under my 51 super A. The steel wheels are so worn that they are knife edged. Last Saturday, I rolled over my work light drop cord and cut the wire almost in half with a flash bang. I have long since taken out the 16 penny nails where he patched it and replaced them with 1/4" carriage bolts. The creeper is probably going to be inherited by my son who is finishing up the last year of an Air Force career. Hard to find that kind of stuff any more.

Drove the combine over mine 20 years ago and fixed it back up. Drove the pickup over it one month ago and it turned into toothpicks.

Now have one with a headrest----much better.

I have a Summit Racing house brand. It has been very good to use.
Tried a HF one after the old wood one died, did not last at all.

We had a couple of those in my gramp's truck & tractor shop at home, I think he bought about a dozen, most stayed at the IH dealership. I remember rebuilding them both a couple times, new pieces of thin plywood and carriage bolts, they were the only two creepers we ever had in the shop, and got used a lot

I updated mine to rubber wheels about 20 years ago,,, need to replace them as I have bout wore them out,,, would never go back to the original style steel wheel

I have two of the newer metal frame soft pad creepes,,, always look for the old wood one first,,, I don't think I will ever get use to the newer creepers

learned long ago in my long hair days long hair and a creeper wheel are not compatible... I have took quite a few nice naps lay'n on a wood creeper under a home delivery milk truck,,, I am now lift broke and only use a creeper for quick looks under a car/truck and the quick nap
