JD 820 Manheim fuel in crankcase

I have a JD 820 Manheim 3 cyl utility tractor, 300 hrs on the clock. Just started running rough, miss on one cylinder? Crank case fills up with fuel after an hour or two of running. Checked fuel pump, changed diaphram in pump. No change. Tried an electric pump, no change. I pulled the cylinder head, noticed a lot of carbon looking gunk on the injectors and the tops of pistons. mechanically looks OK. No scores in the cylinder walls. What is my next step.......HELP. This tractor was in storage for many years. JD dealer put it on blocks and performed necessary steps to long term store it. I got it 2 or 3 years ago with 50 hrs on the clock.

Why did you pull the head? Most likely it's the drive-end seals on the injection pump. USA version has a Stanadyne/Roosamaster and European version has a CAV pump. Both prone to the problem, but it's much more common with the Stanadyne. If it's running funny besides the fuel in the crankcase, and it's a Stanadyne, it's going to need a governor-drive update also.

I'm having similar problems with an 830. I also changed the diaphram in the fuel lift pump but it did no good. It's a good bet that it's your injector pump. I'm in the process of removing mine.
