I,m looking at a generator to buy, found a 10 H.P. Subaru 5250 Watt, it looks like new, it is refurbished and comes with a 1 year warranty.
The price is $399.99. Anyone ever use or own one like this with the Subaru motor ? Satisfied with the performance ?

I have the 10HP coleman generator with the Suburu motor. Runs well, I have owned it for a year now. Way nicer then my Techcumseh 10hp....I sold it to a buddy of mine for $100---it ran but was 10 years old and not reliable enough.
I paid $600 for my Coleman---Brand new at Home depot.
 
i am in KY right now with no power and have been running that subura coleman generator non-stop for 6 days now. NO PROBLEMS what so ever. good on fuel as well.. i would buy another one...
 
Subaru/Robin are the number one small engine in Japan! Nothing wrong with a Subaru engine. Years ago Wisconsin were the N. American Robin distributors. They were called Wisconsin Robin engines back then. Robin/Subaru make some of the high end JD generators. They only make commercial engines. Dave
 
I have a 6K watt Coleman with a Briggs Vanguard engine on it. Nothing wrong with the Robin/Subaru engines, except that sooner or later you'll need a part. There's a Briggs dealer almost everywhere. Where do you go for Robin/Subaru parts?
The 1cyl Vanguards are made by Mitsubishi. The Twins are Daihatsu. I'd venture to say they're equal quality, but Briggs has far better customer support.
