country line 25 ton log splitter

Purchased new last year and has run beautifully until yesterday. It ran out of gas mid split (honestly I did too) when I added gas today it was very difficult to pull the starter cord, which is new and has been remedied by putting it in neutral where it should've been... but although the cord pulls easily and the tank is full, it still doesn't start. Thoughts please?

Are you trolling?? or are you seriously expecting useful help with so little information?

If the cord pulls easily. perhaps theres no compressionso a stuck valve. Unstick it.

It take 3 things to run: fuel, air, spark. all at the correct time and correct quantity.

Asking why it wont start without supplying more info. is like someone saying theyre sick and asking what is the cure?.

Sorry you got a rude response from someone
here. But it would help if you can tell us
what brand engine you have. I would guess
it's probably a Briggs&Stratton. Also you
may get better help by posting your issue in
the Garden Tractors section here since your
log splitter would fall in that category
better and more focused on that type of
engine.

Most newer log splitters use Kolher engines. Is that what you have?

If it ran out of gas I would check to make sure the carb refilled. The filter could be plugged.

Also most newer log splitters have a low oil shut off. Check that you are full of oil and that the engine is setting level.

Appologies if this is too late to the
party but I just found this thread. If
you've resolved the problem then discount
my response.

So, first question is: does your engine
have a primer bulb? Since it ran out of
fuel then upon refill you would need to
pump that several times to refill the
lines.

If that was done then my next question is:
did you engage the choke? You might need
to start off as if the engine was being
started for the first time.

If none of this helps, my email is open
should you be more comfortable that way.

Good luck.
