I pulled her into the garage. So far I've soaked all the moving parts with Kroll. Everything moves but the exhaust valve is slow. I pulled 2 gal of mouse nest and flushed the cooling jacket. Removed the brass drain valve, cleaned, and lubed. Now I need to learn magnetos.

Looking GOOD!

''Now I need to learn magnetos''

Yep, and that's not your everyday mag as a tractor would use.

It's a ''low tension magneto'' combined with an ''igniter''.

Both have to be in good condition and set up properly and timed to each other and the engine so mag is at the point of maximum magnetic saturation of it's core/coil at the instant the igniter ''breaks'' to make the hottest spark at the correct time for the engine.

Steve nice find! I see it even has a clutch those are nice to have I have seen some for sale for 600 dollars or more please contact me with any questionsI will glad to recommend parts sources if you need them Gary

(quoted from post at 17:58:05 08/08/22) I'm crossing my fingers that timing is
good. Condition may be dicey. Can I
substitute a spark plug for ignitor to see
if there is any discharge while I spin the
flywheel?

As stated in the other reply the low-tension magneto doesn't produce enough spark voltage to make a sparkplug spark.

If it turns out that the low-tension mag isn't working you can substitute a low-tension coil and battery to get it up and running.

A solenoid from a truck/tractor engine starter can be used as a substitute low-tension coil by connecting the windings in series with the battery and the igniter points.
