That looks like a Briggs air compressor unit.Motor and compressor on
a slide in frame.Starting motor is the round object up front.

The SBC is standing on its flywheel end. its my 1980 GMCs engine , first one. My gpa bought the truck new and ripped that out and put 2 more in his time lol. Thats sitting exactly where he prob put it and never again touched it. Its a >8600gvw 350 from 1980 so smog malaise sadly. intake is good but I shed no tears for it. the 4 other SBC in my shed are cooler for various reasonl. my fav is the 1967 283 with a powerglide still behind it. Its nearby.
