I went this past weekend to look at a old log splitter, I couldn't leave it behind. It has a old 2 cyl jd motor with a attached transmission that drives the hydraulic pump. It's liquid cooled and is crank start, there is a serial number on the " bell houseing " G-05266 ...... can anyone help me figure out what it is. If I can figure out how to get a picture of it on here i will.

What kind of "transmission", a sort of stationary engine PTO drive, or an actual 3 or 4 speed transmission?

My first wild GUESS would be an LUC, LUS, or LUW.
