Hope this post is not too out of place. Just got this running. Stephenson reverser works good but I still need to make the linkage and It needs a crosshead. I want to eventually mount this on a scale tractor.
Steam engine

Did you build that yourself?
It looks great.
Steam fascinates me.
I went to steam school years ago in Somerset, VA

Yep I built it with a chunk of Harley fork tube for a cylinder and a Harley charging system rotor for a flywheel.

Thanks for the post.........

Part of my career included maintenance in a Natural Gas Compressor Station (Mile 285 Alaska /Alcan Highway)that operated Westinghouse Steam turbines.

Steam supplied from boilers was at 500 PSI......

I have not started building a boiler yet but I was thinking 80 to maybe a 100psi the engine is running on 18psi in the vidio. I will post a better vidio when I get more done.

Kieth for steam engine knowledge and this old Tony for machining tips are a wealth of information to anyone wanting to turn scrap metal into operational art. I have a crosshead fabbed and I am working on the linkage to operate the reversing gear. I will post a more thorough vidieo when It is done.
