White Hercules G2300 bell housing spacer

Looking for opinions, inputs on making a spacer from the G2300 SAE4 to an SAE4 manual clutch.
Thoughts or plans is to use a thru bolt and 7/8 OD 3/8 ID DOM tubing cut and faced to required length at each of the 12 bolts. (Assume 3 inches tubing length) bolting the clutch and tubing to the engine with 4 1/2 inch grade 5 bolts. No ID or OD registration alignments, just the 12 bolts thru the 12 tubes with 3/16 x 3 x 3 plates tacked then welded between the sleeves while bolts/tubes securing the clutch to engine. There will be no flanges.
The G2300 will be running 60/75 hp thru the clutch to a belt driven wood chipper. No impact loading.
Flanges and registration would substantially increase the lathe or mill and rotary table work involved, not to mention the 1/4 inch plates required for the ranges and registrations. $$$$ would go up by a fact of 5 or more. Thoughts????
