Clutch Kit for IH Power Unit H-4284

I'm looking to purchase a clutch kit for an IH Power Unit H-4284. It appears to use a 9" unit. When I purchased the unit it did not have a clutch assembly so I do not have parts numbers. A service manual would be nice but again very difficult find. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me in locating the parts I need.

What tractor engine does it correspond to? I may have one for a Farmall Cub stationary engine.

How old is something like that? I have a IH Blue Ribbon Service manual, tractor and power unit book, probably from about 1960. Seventy four pages of clutches, don't see H4284 in the pwr unit clutches.

Looks very similar to the C123 power unit on the old 163 windrowers and the C153 power units on the 230? windrowers.

So you have a flywheel with a flexplate bolted to it that has splines in the center like a clutch disc.

You would need a lined disc and a pressure plate that would bolt to the flywheel, and possibly to machine the flywheel or find one made for a clutch.

Do you need and "overcenter clutch", or just a simple clutch that released when the throwout bearing is depressing the fingers?

Are there holes in the cast iron cover housing for a cross shaft to operate a throwout fork?

I have no idea what IH applications there may have been for that engine as a power unit with a clutch.

If you have and "industrial clutch and brake" outfit in your area that still has an 'ol guy working, he might have some ideas as to a TwinDisc or "Rockford" industrial clutch that might fit, or you could peruse the 'net and see if anything comes up under those names as old and small as what you need.

Maybe and older guy at an irrigation and industrial engine place, as well.
