EK mag on Hercules not firing everytime

Got an EK mag on my 1 1/2 hp herculese that only fires couple times and then skips a few times. Can't get it to fire long enough to get it cranked. Any help is welcome

Most likely causes would be a gummed up mechanism that doesn't always let it "trip" sharply, or dirty/oxidized/crappy points that don't make good contact every time.

Is the trip mechanism tripping it the same every time? Try tripping it with a screwdriver and the spark plug out and see if it is firing each time you trip it.
