Air compressor engine 6 cylinder

I have a IR 3 R 36 radial air compressor engine that runs on 3 cylinders and pumps air with the other 3. Does anyone on this site have and
Info on these engines. Pumps 36cfm's at 80 psi. They were used on the rail road. That's about all I know. I'll post a couple pics.

That is a pretty neat piece of gear.

Just google the following and go to the first link. The post is old but you may be able to contact the one gentleman that has the manuals for it.

Thanks, I looked at that couple weeks ago and even sent an email to one of the guys but have not gotten any reply. I checked the oil in it and it
looked good. Took the rope pulley off and put a nut on the end of the shaft and used a 1/2" drill to turn it. It cranked and ran good. Put the pulley
back on and now it cranks on the first pull of the rope. It puts out lots of air. I have no idea what I will do with it.

I can't tell for sure in the photo if all cylinders are in the same plane, or ie 1 throw in the crankshaft. I thought a radial engine had the be odd # of cylinders. They could be even # of cylinders if you had 2 rows of odd # of cylinders.

Would it not be basically a three cylinder engine and a three cylinder compressor? Appears that each uses every other cylinder. Lee
