Hey guys
I have the above engine, and it looks like it's been taken apart before, and not put back together right. One of the caps to the crank has been broken, and welded..I found the timing mark on the flywheel, and it says in the directions that this is suposed to line up with the shaft, when the mag fires....well it doesn't even come close, so I'm thinking someone took the crank out and didn't put it back in the right spot.It fires at the very begining of the compression stroke..Are there any whitness marks on the gears to align so we can get this back together where it's suposed to go? Thanks Art
 
Hey Arthur, is that you? Why don't you bring that Stover up on 7/18. I bet there'll be somebody there that would be able to help you. Sure would love to see that RC again, too.
BTW, I'm on the verge of getting into the hit & miss bidness. Will need all the help I can get!
First of all, I suppose I had better obtain one. Been working on it but no success yet.

How have you, & the family been? hope you got thru the winter o.k.. I gotta tell ya, people think these engine are worth a lot of money...Why, I paid almost as much for my stover, as I did for most of my tractors, Granted, none of them were running when I got them....I just got my RC running last weekend, and I'm going to a small pull on Sunday this week in Medway, just down the street from me.We'll have to try to get up there this summer. Have a good one, and nice talking to ya again...
 
I got a look yesterday at a 7 HP Sandwich. It was outside but covered with a couple of tarps. Obviously hadn't been looked at for at least a couple of years, judging from the debris on top of the tarps. Sure would like to see that one in operation. Owner says they used to run a saw rig with it. Seems like more than enough engine for that work.
