New software question

Yes, I'm importing everything into the new database back to 2007 right now, and we will retain pointers to everything older than that until we can move those in too.

That's a separate problem, though that menu will be replaced with one that is simpler so in a way yes, it will fix that.

Mobile views are usually a lot different than desktop views though. Ours is.

On my tablet and android phone the YT homepages are the same.

Here is a screen shot from my windows laptop of the yesterdaystractors.com webpage. And it is different than the same webpage shown in the second screen shot by another user.
Device unknown.
I wonder how many other versions people see when using different devices, operating systems, internet providers or whatever it is that causes inconsistant displays?

Yes, the mobile version which works on the ipad and iphone is completely different than the desktop version. It has to be that way as it's dictated by google to have a mobile version of your main site.

It's supposed to make a site be more friendly on a mobile device since you have a difference in how much screen space there is and how you control it. Like on a mobile device, there is no room for a menu and important functions of control like hovering, don't exist on mobiles.

I don't know much about it other than they have to be different. You've probably noticed that Modern View doesn't have a difference (it has no mobile presentation) and it is hard to use on a phone without constantly zooming the screen. You have to get rid of stuff on a mobile version so it always fits.

Like you mention, it can even be different between two kinds of mobiles though ours isn't supposed to be. But devs can take advantage of the increased screen size of an iPad over a phone and have 3 different versions.

When loading a pic, it loads to 100%. Everything stops, and pic does not completely load as before. Been working with it for over an hour and have had no luck. Thanks.

When composing your post, use the "Attach files" button, lower left. Choose the pic file from your device. It will load as a thumbnail like this screen shot. (Right hand pic below)

DoubleO7 has the answer on that. The change he's talking about requires a restart. I'm saving up a few things to do at that restart since it will disrupt people for a few minutes. Could be as late as tomorrow morning though probably this evening.
