Chain on manure spreader doesn t move

I went out to spread my muck pile, filled the spreader and the chain on the floor isn t moving! Suggestions?

The pto and flingers at the back all turn. The chain within the guard moves

Follow the drive train , might be in the gear box , or
maybe a sprocket has a shear pin ? Or a sheared pin.
Cant be that hard to find the problem.

As rustred suggested, follow the drive train. You need to look at the drive train for the bed conveyor chain, no one here can do that for you. Where things stop turning should be evident. Are the pawls and springs in place and turning the ratchet wheel that mounts on the bed chain shaft, at the rear of the bed? Is the cross shaft turning inside the bed chain sprockets that pull the bed chain?

Knowing the model will be helpful if you locate the problem and need help. The model/serial number tag is often on the right side at the front. If you don't have an operator's manual you can download and save one, for free, at the JD Ag bookstore by doing an Equipment Publications search, if you can identify your model.

I have run into that twice. Both times it was a worn ratchet wheel.
