Hi all, I have a lot to browse here when time allows but I have a question that may not be answered elsewhere. I have a 530SL with the bendix steering power assist cylinder with the combination ball stud/tie rod end on the working end. As I am forced to be creative and frugal (purists may want to stop reading here lol) I am thinking about making something "new" to make mine functional again, it appears to be in very poor shape from many years of neglect. I have found a cylinder that will move similarly but the housing will stay in pace vs the current design of the housing moving. I am also looking at the image from the post of: "1961 Case 530CK Bendix Power Steering Not Working?" and my question revolves around the valve housing. I am looking at it in the shop and it appears it just provides constant pressure to the two working side ports? The through bolt just holds the two end pieces together enough to get it installed easier? There appears to be no valve movement created by the steering? Mine is badly (c)rusted, and my idea is to put the valve on a bracket that allows for much less hose and movement needs, and a hopefully far simpler to replace tie rod system. Thank you for letting me pick your collective grey matter B
