Make be silly question but going to ask anyway.. Have a hybrid jubilee/600 with a petcock style fuel valve. The valve has a brass reducer going into the fuel tank. The valve is leaking. I want to replace with sediment bowl. Don't know how long this reducer has been in there and don't want to damage the tank by removing it. What you think. Little PB Blaster and crank it out.

Hello Jim welcome to YT! Is there a lot of rust inside or
outside of the tank around the tank fitting? As in do
you think that area is weaken due to rust? If not brass
is generally fairly good about letting loose. Usually
better than aluminum or metal. If the tank looks fine
around it then it will probably screw right out. Of
course as is often said here ..YMMV.. your mileage may
vary. In other words it will still be done at your own
risk.

The other good thing about brass and pot metal fittings is they can easily be drilled out and chase the threads with a tap. But a lot of people don't have the requisite pipe taps in their toolbox. steve
