How many of you use a electrolysis tank to remove rust from your tractor parts?? I have been using this method for over 17+ years, got all the info from FIT.

My present tank is too small for the fenders I need to do now, so I have up graded to larger tank 200 gallons. Had to order more Sodium Hydroxide (lye, caustic soda ) Ya just put your part in tank hook it up walk, away to do other things. I can do other clean up or work on mechanical problems, while rust is being removed.

rule of thumb, is one table spoon for one gallon of water. My tank is 200 gals, so I had to put in 6 lbs of Lye Approximately 30 TBLs per lb. My VAo fenders have been in the tank for about 36 hrs now, I will check them out tomorrow, should be about 48 hrs.

Love the process!, my tanks just keep getting bigger

Using a 275 gallon tote and bushhog blades now for big stuff

Havent heard of FIT (Frank) for years, Any body know if he is still with us or not. or if he is how is he doing. Last I knew he had his own web site; He was orignaly from my area.

My tank will hold 302 gallons, but I only fill too 200 gals. need to leave room for water displacement of parts I am putting in it.Requires less caustic soda, 6 pounds----30 TBLS pr lb. so that is 180 TBLS. equals approximately 1 TBL pr gallon.
I've had good luck with this formula for 17+ years.

Hey Leroy, I just remembered I still have a un-cashed check from FIT with his Addy and PH# will see if I can find it. then give him a call, hopefully number is still good if he is still with us (like on the right side of the grass).
