Inner axle drive gear

Need some help. Trying to take my Farmall C apart for a complete restoration, but I ve run into some trouble. I cannot get the inner axle drive gear/inner break housing holder out and do not know what else to do. Does the transmission cover need to come all the way off to get this out, or can I get it out without taking it off. Thanks

Hello Olbuddy welcome to YT! Well hopefully you did
not get to rough with them, not sure if the C has
threads for jack bolts like the H and M and others have.
Guys have broke them before, hopefully you have not.
Since you are claiming to be doing a complete
..restoration.. you may as well get the trans top pulled
off. The bull gears on the inner end of the axle need to
come off first before these bull pinion bearing
housings can be pulled they have a notch in them that
the bull gear runs through, see number 4 in the
attached diagram, same part for both sides. Use a PC
to view the parts catalog if you try it on a phone it is a
bit quirky at least that is what I find on an iPhone. On a
PC you will clearly see that from the link you can see
all the parts diagrams for your tractor.
You should also at least get an I&T manual for your
tractor it will help avoid situations like this. See the box
above that says ..Tractor Manuals..
Lastly, these forums have topic sections that address
machines by the manufacturers. The 2nd link will take
you to the Farmall and IH topic section. If you have
future post on your Farmall I would suggest you post
them over there.
