MF 275 power steering cylinder removal.

Smack the side of the part the taper stud is in with a
big hammer right at the center line of the taper stud. It
is also helpful to place a backing counter weight like a
sledge hammer or heavy steel against the opposite
side. In the picture is sort of an example, pretending
the hole in the nut shown is the hole in the part the
tapered pin is in.

I gave it a pretty good lick. Haven t got it to budge. Am I attacking it right and do I just need to get aggressive. Trying not to bugger the threads. Need to have it rebuilt unless I can find a new one.

Take the nut off, put a jack under the end of the stud, and put some up pressure on the end of the stud. Strike down on the arm.

Now that I see what you are dealing with you have not
even hit it yet!! You will need to swing at it for all your
good for maybe even a 3 lbs hammer. You will need to
leave pock marks in that cross support where I drew
the line on the photo to get them to come loose. If
using heat it should be around the stud.

Thanks guys! I tried them all and a good old torch , about 3-4 minutes directly on the bolt and a small sledgehammer and we gotter done!
