Fordson dexta main shaft retainer. Is there supposed to be a

Hi all would anyone know if my standard fordson dexta is supposed to have a hole in the main shaft retainer.within the clutch bell housing or gearbox.

Pretty sure that hole is supposed to be there.

My guess is it goes to the bottom, serves as a drain to keep a leaking seal from oiling the clutch disc.

Hi yes indeed it does go at the bottom. That is the only reason I can think that it's there also but would like to know for sure before I put it back together.

Hi I have looked at my super dexta today it also has a hole but it's a nice drilled hole rather than one that's been attacked by a grinder.
