I need help. I have a 1970's 434 IH tractor. I was stuck in a gear. I removed the shifter housing after removing hydraulic housing. Installed everything and now I only have reverse. I thought everything looked aligned when I installed the shifter forks. I guess I didn't. If the shifter housing levers are in neutral and the forks align should everything be good. It was not easy to align forks to the gears. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, thats a very heavy unit to keep taking off. Done it many times, I used to use strips of 1 inch wide steel about 10 inches long to hold the gears in place then pull them out as you lower the top down. Next time it plays up on the gear lever just take the horizontal pin out of the gearbox top and lift the gear lever straight up and realign the selectors and refit the gear lever. Good luck and do not trap your fingers. MJ
