Massey Feguson 255 Power Steering

Good evening! We have a Massey Ferguson 255 that is one of the main tractors on our farm. Unfortunately, the main pressure line on the power steering motor rubbed against the metal side of the opening it passes through underneath the steering column to run along the engine block underneath the manifold. This in turned created a hole in the metal line and needs to be replaced. Now, I called our local Massey Dealer and as we thought, the pressure line is going to cost around $180. If we were to buy this pressure line, is there a way to install it without having to rip apart the dash, steering column, gas tank, etc? We were able to pry/turn the old line out, but putting a new one in looks to be complicated. SECONDLY, if we were to have a custom high heat flexible pressure line made, what temperature do you think the line should be rated at? We have a hose company who could probably make a high heat flexible hose rated at 500 degrees. Since this line does sit close to/on the side of the engine block and underneath the manifold, will 500 degrees be enough? What are your thoughts? Any help is greatly appreciated!!
 
Heat is not a concern, any hydraulic hose will be well within the heat range.

One solution would be to cut the metal part of the line. If possible use a tubing cutter, if not square and debur the end best you can. Then have a hydraulic hose made and use a steel compression fitting on the cut off line, and the proper fitting on the other end.

If that is not practical, remove the entire line, take it to a hose supply. They can either repair it, or make a rubber hose to replace it.

I believe that system runs around 2000 PSI, so a relatively low pressure hose will work.
 
There are ferrule fittings available for splicing steel hydraulic lines. Good hydraulic shops carry them, I have used them in the past, and they work well.
