Help installing an O-ring

An O-Ring, in the female end of my hydraulic hook up is stopping me from rolling hay. Labor Day weekend, no place to get one but Tsc/rural king. They sell 3 sizes. The smallest two, go in easy, but blow immediately. The one that is probably/hopefully the right size, is impossible for simple minded me to put in. What am I missing?

Do you have a set of these?

If you don't, a little creative sharpening and bending of a small screw driver, piece of wire, whatever it takes to get in there and get it done!

! used to have trouble replacing O rings on all the hoses and guns on my pressure washer, with the hot water they seemed to go through them faster. So when I go to the Dentist I asked them what they did with there old tools and they gave me some, Free and they work good.
