Belarus 572 Wiring

Working on wiring on a Belarus 572.

New to this and basically have little idea of what I?m doing.
I come to this website for help understanding wiring diagram. I have
been able to follow and identify some wires but especially
Confused when it comes to ignition switch paths and understanding
what wire is the hot feed from battery. Any help is appreciated.

If it's like mine it has a series-parallel switch for 24V start, and 12V charging and lights. Switch is between the two 12V batteries behind the seat. I keep the ground disconnect switch in off position and only turn it on to use the tractor.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, mine also has the parallel switch between the batteries. I understand that when the key is in the cranking position that it engages that switch so 24v are sent to starter.. I?m just having trouble understanding where the ignition gets it power from the starter because to me it doesn?t look like the attached wiring diagrams the service manual contains shows what wire runs from starter to ignition. Are you able to see it? Anyone?

I's a pretty simple circuit, really.

I've put some notes on the diagram, use at your own risk.

When not cranking, both batteries supply 12 Volts to the "30" terminal on the S/P switch, and I've marked in red it's path to the Ammeter. The alternator and many loads connect to the other side of the ammeter.

Note the two 50 Amp fuses on the S/P switch, one for each battery, which protect the charging and accessory circuits fed from each.

What issue are you having?

Bob,

I really appreciate this. I?m a 28 year old computer nerd who was
inspired by a YouTube video to rebuild the hydrolocked engine of my
Grandpap?s tractor, which was my ?favorite? growing up. It sat for 15
years rotting away and I?m getting so close to bringing it back.

I am going to print the notes you?ve done for me off. The whole wiring
task is pretty overwhelming for me due to not having any experience
at all. I don?t understand what I?m looking at so I?m just trying to learn
as much as I can.

Thanks again for helping and I apologize for the backstory if you
didn?t care to read it.

If I may pick your brain a bit... does that mean that the ignition is tied
in from a hot wire that goes to the ammeter?

Forgot to answer your question, really.

The issue is just that we are waiting on a new SP switch now because of old one was completely rusted out inside but before we discovered that we were trying to hook the starter up to the wires that ran from the cab but weren?t sure we were doing it right... so I?m trying to get a better understanding of what this diagram says anyway I can.

For example on the tractor... there?s a thick wire that runs to starter from back left battery suppling constant 12v. But from what I remember there are two wires that ran from the starter to the cab.. a purple and a orange one.. I followed them to a plug under the dash... and eventually traced one back to the sp switch.. but this plug I mentioned. On one side there are 4 wires running into it and on the other side only three. I just don?t get it well enough yet and why there?s a wire ran that doesn?t connect to anything? the diagram even shows three wires running out of this plug, one to the starter. I have an extra I?m not sure about?

Terminal 50a is control from key, if you are standing on the back of tractor it is between the switch and the right battery. In the middle of switch the wire was green for the 572 I was working on. There is three, top is right battery positive terminal big red wire under that one is a small green wire from control on terminal 50a. Then under that is fuse link and blue or purple wire on it. Thats how mine was.

Hey everyone,

I m wondering if someone could post or send me a picture of their parallel switch hookup. I had a mouse get into mine and it fried some wires so now I have to replace it. Just looking for a visual as I am pretty new to this type of thing.

Any help would be really appreciated!
