PTO Problems

Hello, I am new to the Forum. I have a 1960 B275 International harvester when i engage the PTO and start to plow the PTO jumps out..however i can tie the handle back really tight and it will stay engaged. any ideas what the prob is and what to do about it? thanks, Ted

I'm thinking your problem is that the shifter rail,spring and ball inside the tractor are wore out causeing it to not stay engaged when its got pressure on it.You will probably will have to spit the tractor in half at the transmission and rearend to get to the problem.If you have a sercive manual for it,It will tell step by step how to do this I&T makes a good manual.
