International 1066 front axle assy.

I'm helping a friend restore an International 1066.
We have the front axle assembly off, as we are rebuilding the engine.
We have 2 problems here.
#1 we cant separate the 2 outsides of the axle assy, from the middle. In otherwords we want to widen out the front, and can't budge anything.
Does anyone have a good solution on how to get these things separated.
#2 the spindle seems to be worn. Is there a shim or something that we can add under the steering arm, to tighten things up?
Would appreciate all answers.

Oh let the fun begin . When they rust up they really rust up and stick. Start soaking it with a good penetrating fluid like Zep if you can find it . It is by far the best and i have found NOTHING take will even come close Blasters is ok if that is all ya can find. Then ya soak and soak some more and place a good 12 ton jack with a homemade extension made out of schedule 80 3 inch pipe with half inch caps welded on and start jacking up close to the tube on the spindle drops . Heat from a rose bud tip will also help .

And oh ya can replace the bushing in the knees . There are bushing in the upper and lower parts along with lower thrust bearings. You can get the parts ya need from A&I , Part # A358958R3 on the bushings and A185106C1 in the thrust bearings.

I want to thank you for your advice. We had already poured penetrating oil down the tube, and had it rigged to a 20 ton press. Came off the next day.
As for the bushings, I believe he found the part numbers and have ordered them.
Still, thanks for the advice.
