(quoted from post at 09:29:46 03/27/11) does any one know how much more power you would get out of a Continental 162ci L head bored out .060
ain about 2 HP.

That is about the size of it. But now if you were drag racing the 2 might make the win/lose difference of a few thousandths of a second, so it could be important...........somewhere, sometime.

If there was no real gain a lot of people sure have been dupped when buying the over bore kits rather than a standard kit. .0625 is 1/16"

An over bore kit of 3 7/16 from 3 3/8 would be an over bore of .0625.

Displacement difference would make minimal HP as noted earlier. Compression would add HP, not too many "standard" aftermarket kits do much of that. They were designed to use available fuel at the time. Fuels have gotten better, but the design hasn't changed to keep up with the higher octane fuels.

I am not familar with the dimensions of that engine. However, if you can provide the standard (current) bore size, compression ratio and number of cylinders I can estimate the HP increase for you.
