i have an international farmall cub. i am workin on restoring it and getting it cranked is my first priority. Already replaced coil, points, battery, plugs and wires and rebuilt the carb. But for some reason it just wont start. and about the problem i am having with the coolant is that when i am trying to crank the tractor it shoots coolant out of the intake stack with the choke off but when the choke is on it stops shooting. This particular tractor has been sitting for about 2 years without bein cranked. Any ideas what could be my problem with the coolant shooting out of the intake and also why it wont crank?? I would really appreciate the help if any of yall have knowledge of this particular problem. Thanks again.

You need to check to see if any fire is getting to your sparkplugs. Pull off a plug wire and hold it about 1/4" away from the sparkplug while someone makes an attempt to start the engine. Make sure the ignition switch is in the on position. If there's no fire to your plug you need to use a volt meter or test lite to check for battery voltage at your coil. With your points open and your ignition switch in the on position you should have battery voltage on both small terminals on your coil. If there's no voltage you need to check your ignition switch to see if battery voltage is present there. Also check for voltage coming in to the switch. If you have voltage coming in to the switch and no voltage to your coil your switch is defective. If there's no voltage to your switch you either have a broken wire that feeds battery voltage to your switch or a loose connection.

I would pull all those sparkplugs and spin the engine over and look for any coolant from the cylinders. If there's coolant from any of the cylinders you may a head gasket leaking or blown or a cracked head.

If you have good fire to your plugs you need to hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor while some makes an attempt to start the engine and check for suction on hand. If you don't have much suction on your hand means you don't have very good intake manifold vacuum. Do a compression check on all the cylinders and compare the readings. The rings may be stuck in the ring lans on the pistons if you have low compression. Hal

How have you identified the liquid as coolant? Coolant is just as alien to the carburetor as beer is. It looks like you are saying that it does not turn over(crank) I'm guessing that in sitting you got water in one or more cylinders, which since it won't compress, keeps the motor from turning over. You need to remove all the sparkies and then turn it over to expel the water. then put a tablespoon full of oil in each cylinder and crank it over a few more times. Then change oil and filter put in new gas, check gas delivery to carb, check spark etc. First get the water out.
