Well thing are looking up I found a manifold for the H and it was in great shape fast tense yes had it for half an hour and one became two pieces that is the short of it is that while tapping out the threading for the stack pipe it came out of the vice. so walked across the street rummaged through more parts and found its twin this time while tapping it out it stayed in the vice. so as i type it is soaking in the tank to rid itself rust and crud has been in for four hours an is starting to look much better. Question is once the rust is off, how tight to the manifold is the residue that is left the black /silver looking film and can you cook it too long

What are you cooking it in will depend on how long you may be able to keep it in there.
