hello, i am trying to rebuild my hydraulic bucket cylinders on my loader. i have removed the outside snap ring. but it looks like there is a second ring on the inside of the cylinder from the drawing that i have attached. so i am stuck there. i have no clue, how too remove that inside snap ring, as there is like no space there. any help would be great.<p>thanks Kevin

If it is the type of cylinder I am thinking of, once the outer snap ring is removed, tap the "gland"... the part with the seal the snap ring was in... INWARD, back into the cylinder, exposing the second snap ring.

Post back and let us know if that's how your's is set up.

that is correct , there does not seem to be any holes to get the second snap ring out ??? is there a special tool that you need???

Bob is right- needs to go in. You can use a heavy pick or screwdriver to push the ring in, rotate it 90 degrees, and pluck it out- will not fall back into the groove that way. JD likes to hide things and have smooth lines- like the slave cylinder on a 7000 planter- work through the hyd hose fitting.

hey it worked, i an half way through my second cylinder. any secrets to getting that out side snap ring back on, they sure do not make it to easy!!!

thanks for all the help
