Folks
I'm looking to buy a D4 2t but both steering clutches are frozen.<br>The price is right but I need it to steer before I can load it. Anyone know of any other quick fixes besides soaking the clutches with diesel? If I try to soak the clutches, how long? The owner prefers not to have me take apart the clutches.
Thanks!

Are they frozen, or possibly way out of adjustment? When My dad bought hisD4, it would not turn left worth a damn. After fartin around getting off the trailer at his house, I must have drained 5 gal of water out of the bottom drains for the final drives. After popping the seat area up and looking at the clutch adjustment, the left adjustment had to be cranked in about 5 whole turns before it began to release the clutch. If you feel no resistance to the clutch levers, I'd tjhink of checking the adjustment.
