Gear pump restoration

Has anyone tried to restore a power steering gear pump that was completely worn out from abuse? I have two power steering pumps for 300 and 300B series Case tractors. I have been looking for a source of gears that could be machined to fit. I have tried all of the online gear people that I could find. the lowest cost gear so far is about $400 per gear for custom made gears. I am wondering if anyone has found a source where I can buy gears that are roughly 10 tooth 10 pitch gears that are 1" wide. Perhaps other tractor gear pumps use the same or similar enough gears. My plan was to keep the same 1" pitch diameter but get gears that are slightly larger on the O.D. This will allow me to clean up the casting by machining the casting to fit the larger gears. Using the online gear design tools, this gear works out to 1.200" outer diameter, and the casting is currently about 1.170" diameter where each gear sits. It looks as though the original designer specified a 12 pitch 12 tooth gear with an O.D. of 1.167" diameter but then changed to a 10 pitch gear and turned off the ends of the teeth to fit the casting.
If I can locate the gears for a reasonable price, then I can restore two of these old Barnes pumps, for which there is no replacement. I have tried other sources for a good used pump, which is why I now have two junk pumps that I am hoping to bring back to working condition again.

Thanks

Dave

You may want to obtain technical literature from some of the manufacturers of gear pumps such as Commercial(Parker)..........the literature should have drawings showing the size/pitch of the gears used in their pumps, from that info. you can potentially size up a gear combination that may work in your pump........perhaps with some machining required...........
