Hydraulic pump

Which is more cost effective? Having mine rebuilt or buying one on ebay or the like?
If rebuilding, where do you find someone to do it and what can one expect to pay? How long can it take?

If I buy a new one, what do I do with the old one?

Really depends on what your working on. Theres a good many that can not be rebuilt and theres a good many that to rebuild it would cost as much or more then a new pump. As far as getting one on e-bay a used pump is a big gamble at best

Unless it's a piston pump you throw it away and buy a new one. Gear and vane pumps are generally not rebuildable...
The time and cost of rebulding a pump is largely dependant on the design and size of the pump.

That pump can not be rebuilt by just any body. You can buy rebuilt ones from nnalert but hold on to your back pocket there around $600-700. New ones around around $1200 or more from Case/IH
