Saw his family had posted this in tractor talk, thought I would add here also:

Hello to all on the forum,

I regret to inform you that my dad, John Close, AKA the Carvel Farmer, passed away on December 31, 2018. He enjoyed his conversations with the folks on this forum.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, Jan 5th at the Onoway Community Hall at 1 pm, should anyone like to attend.
Thank you for being his friend and sharing your knowledge with him. All the best to you and yours.

May 30, 1949 - December 31, 2018
John Edward Close, 69, passed away peacefully in his home on Dec 31st/18 surrounded by loved ones. A loving father, husband, brother, and friend, he will be missed.

My sincere condolences on the passing of your father. I enjoyed numerous messages with him sharing his love of MM tractors and Yesterdays Tractors in general. I am saddened to know I will no longer be hearing from him or reading his posts. I trust you will be comforted by the many wonderful memories I am sure you have of father.
