It has been over 11 years since Tommy Churchill passed away in Edmonton Alberta. He was terminally ill with cancer, when he fell, breaking ribs, and contracting pneumonia.
Tom owned and operated the Cockshutt/Oliver/Minneapolis Moline dealership east of Elrose, west of Dinsmore, from 1952 til 1984, when White Farm Equipment ceased to be as a business.
Many farmers from places as far away as Trail BC. or Carman Man, would travel to Wiseton to purchase their equipment from Tom, as he was known throughout the farming community as an honest, trustworthy man. There were a number of farmers who would never dream of dealing with anyone else.
They don't seem to make men like Tommy Churchill anymore, at least I've never met another one.
RIP Thomas Churchill
