Hd800 throttle linkage

Converting a 800 from propane to gas.
Putting stromberg 7 on it . Any tips on
Linkage length from rod going from governor
Across front of engine , to the carb ? Cant
Get it consistent , cant get a broad throttle range
, its either idles fine and will rev to 1400 or so
Or 1400 to wide open but wont idle. Any help

Should adjust like any other governor. Pull t or push the throttle wide open. The throttle rod to the carb should just fit. If it Jack's make it a 1/4 hole long. When you go to idle linkage should drop. Can't bind anywhere. If it doesn't go fast enough use a stronger spring. Or two. The throttle should push the carb back to idle
