Guys pulling molines with 605 engines, that are close to stock , what mph classes can you pull? Is 6 mph in 3rd gear in a gvi asking to much of the engine? Thanks
 
Guess it depends. A 403 has 125 hp. So a 605 should have 190 But a 800 has 250. A stock 800 will do what you want. But a U with a 5 1/2 bore and a 7 inch stroke is 711. They will make 250 hp also. And you can win the 5000 6 mph and 8 mph. And have a chance at 12. Opinions are like belly buttons every body has one. Lol

sorry just reread it ,a stock 605 at stock rpms, will not run 3rd gear, unless you get down around 5500 maybe,my GVI will do 7.5 mph in 3rd trying to run 6 mph would dog the motor down to far
 
5.5 by 7 is 665 cubic inch.5.5 by 7.5 is 712.I have a 712,im very happy with it! havent dynoed it but it will pull 4 th gear with 18.4 38 10.5 mph if its not to good of a track.
 
sorry, I wasnt clear, I was replying to Vics. those are 4 cylinder dimensions. never ran a 605, but an 800 or bigger would work well.
 
Mine is .020 over, aluminum pistons with 4231
Heads and stromberg carb. I think sf4. Got it from
Motec. Its in a GTBD, Im hoping to make 6000.
