Heard you was tearing up the track down there! Blowing smoke and churning up dust for a win is how the story was told.

Hi Mel--Who in the heII have you been talking to??? Guthrie Center is about 200 mi. from me so the pull was supposed to start at 9 AM so drove down by myself the afternoon before. Got there about 7 and watched the smokers and some of the pick-ups and crawled in my trailer--opened the windows and tried to sleep. Woke up and was freezing--crawled in the pick-up-started it--got warmed up and slept until first light. They had us on the other side of the fair grounds so drove over to the track and had a good time--weather was cloudy and cool.. Jim had a St. Jude class where all the entry fees were donated to St. Jude but Jim-with the St. Jude IH 460 and I plus I think 1 more guy were the only ones to sign up?????????? Figure that out??? But they had 3 jackpot classes 4750-5750-6750 that each paid $500--Won the 4750-got 2nd in the 5750 and third in the 5750---Had a good time but did not get home until 9 Sun. night and this old man was TIRED!!!!--Thats all---Tee

Did not see it but there was a drone over head--If you look close that is my truck and trailer on the right side of the pic next to the plowed field--pull was almost over....

Forgot--You are right Mel--there is nothing like the sound of a good running Deere 4630 with a CHROME straight pipe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!---Tee

I have my sources TEE. Sounded like you got the carbon burned out of ol Abe.

That track was HARD to start the day and the sled heavy. Getting out of the hole in the lighter classes was a little tricky. It was a very good pull though with a lot of tractors and a lot of hooks. I did manage 3rd in both Div. II 4,000 lb and 5,000 lb classes.

This track was new this year. They hauled in clay to build the track. They had been watering and packing it for a month prior to the pull.

it needed more water that day, too dry, dust is slippery, -I pounded a cup of dirt out of my air cleaner. many tractors couldn't get a grip, couldn't even see the V 8s with the huge cloud of dust, it did get better after several hours.
