Video-Let A Friend Pull My 1466 IH On Sunday Eve

This past Sunday eve I let Kelly Butler drive my 1466 IH at the Pleasant Hill,MO MSTPA pull..Hes a nice young man that hooks up the sled at all of the MSTPA pulls...Kelly lives down the road at
Harrisonville,MO and had lots of family and friends there watching...His fiance is the 100 ft flag person but she was videoing his run at this pull..She and Kelly went back to their regular jobs for the
2nd class of the evening..Hot Stock is always the first class to pull..By the way Kelly proposed to her on this track at the Pleasant Hill pull last year...Kelly hooks at the 4:20 mark and did a nice job
coming in 3rd in a class of 10 strong tractors...The 10,500 Hot Stock class is really coming on strong..This was the most entries its ever had since it was started about 7-8 years ago...Kelly is trying
to buy a 4010 JD mph puller that needs a little work to be competitive in HS.

I tried something new last Friday eve...I hooked the Spring River 10,000 Hot Farm 18 MPH class at Carthage,MO....Even though I couldn't run 18 mph I took home the win at 407 ft against some
good running tractors...You can hook 20.8's once a year with them so if I hook there again this year it will have to be on 18.4x38's.On Saturday eve at Carthage,MO they couldn't stop the 10,000
Hot Farms going down hill so they turned the sled around..The Money Shot 1066 IH puller with driver Ben Miller made the run of its life pulling 414 ft to take a hard fought win against 3 John
Deeres and several IH's.

Yes,its a 12.5 MPH speed limit class but I heard that it was set at 14 mph for Pleasant Hill which is too much...Kelly had mine up to 13.1 mph when he backed out of it for a little bit...Most are running a 14-17 mph gear..I'm at 16.3 or so and could handle more..

Can you run more gear and then putt along until it starts to loose a little traction and then nail it. It will pull the best if the motor is really loaded at the end.

1206--GOOD video--When that pan dropped it was like someone threw out an anchor!!!--Nice class--Good Luck--Stay safe---Tee

You saw us pull on a real easy track that didnt take tons of horsepower...At 3-4 tracks some have all the gear that they need and don't really have enough clutch..Oak Grove,MO is one of the toughest tracks that we pull on.....I have to come out at 2800-3000 rpms there with a 3 disk clutch..That track snuffs lots of tractors.Several of these tractors also pull a 11,500 class in the same gear...I'm usually at 2300-2400 rpms for the first 200 ft...Last year I won the points title with a 14.5 mph gear....This Sat eve I'll pull at Garnett,KS on a power track.

That sled really hammers you..We that pull the 10,500 HS class all get along good and have lots of fun without breaking the bank...I'm often the lone IH..This Friday eve its a 140 mile drive to Boonville,MO where 3 associations will be pulling side by side on 3 tracks..Because of the heat we won't start until 8 PM...It will be a long night...Then at 2 PM Sat I leave for Garnett,KS which is 90 miles away..It will be 104-105 degrees there and they may start late too?The crops are fastly biting the dust here....Some in my area havent had a good rain since early June.

The tractor I helped build runs open rpm but years ago we had it dynoed and we found the rpm it made maximum hp was too low for our class so we made some changes to the motor but it would put out over 2000 ft lbs of torque at 1800 rpm. I would have liked to have seen that motor in a hot farm tractor.

Well--Good luck on the rain and the pulling--I don't want brag but we have been lucky in NE Iowa--we have gotten some good rains the last month so the crops are in good shape up here. When it is 100 degrees it is no fun to throw 1000 lbs. of black 100 lb. weights between classes--I've been there and done that many times. If you don't have gloves you can't even hang on to them!!! Well good luck to you again and keep cool---Tee-----I got stupid and bought this---

Thanks. The link worked...Great running JD...No beans even close to that tall in my area...We had a cold-wet April and May so most beans didnt get planted until almost mid June.

Thats great that some of you are getting rain..They are already chopping corn south of me..So you bought a Econo-Mod..Thats neat..What association do you pull with?I assume its a big block Chevy.

Have not pulled it yet. Bought it off of Big Iron Auctions in March and am changing alot of stuff. The guy had 2 of them and his wife drove this one. She sat with the seat on the floor and I had a issue with that--raised the seat 7 inches and the top of the cage 8--moved the steering and the throttle--narrowed the frontend --changed the fan and radiator--and put 23.1x34 tires on plus alot of other things. The worst was getting the right rear hub off of the Cockshut 35 rearend-broke my store-bought puller and had to make my own-Took me 3 days to get it off!!! On the second day it moved 1/4 in. and I thought I died and went to heaven!! I'm almost ready to go.. Took a bent up piece of junk Olly nose and widened it and painted it--will send pics when it is all done--That's all ---Tee

Where are you in Ohio? We had 5 inches of rain on one farm! Lot of beans replanted. Corn is anywhere from 1 foot tall 6-7 feet!
