Question on rim width

I run 15.5x38 tires. Went from 14 rims to 16. Didnt notice any difference in performance but they do look good.(lol) My question is does anyone run 18 rims with 15.5 tires or is that too much rim? Just curious havent seen it myself I dont believe. Lee

I saw a JD at Tunica last year that had 15.5 or 14.9 on maybe 20 rims. They looked really short. I don't know how they did. But my friend had 14.9's on 12 rims a9nd he was hard to beat.

My theory on running wide rims is that you can run higher air pressure and they still run flattened out with less worry about lowering drawbar height with a big load. gm

I am running 15.5 X 38 BF Double cuts on 16" rims on my 39 DC here in Pa and I could not ask that tractor to do better.

There is a guy that comes to our local pulls that has a pair of 16.9x38s he runs on 18 inch rims. He said that the person he got them from always kept low air pressure in them so he was able to stretch them out a little. He does pretty good with them. He also says he doesn't run any inner tubes with them either.

44, Most of the tires I run are old, beads not the best, wouldn't do to well tubeless, good old hard stuff is getting hard to find and they are the best pullers by far. Guess guys use tubeless to save a couple pounds of weight.
